Description
This is a lovely little book. The cover is embossed and decorated with birds, butterflies and flowers. There are a few spots on the cover but they are hard to find among all the decorations.
This book was written by Emilia Marryat and illustrated by her sister Augusta. There is no date of publication for this book however Emilia died in 1875 so it may be pretty old. This book is not listed in the Wikipedia articles about the sisters and other booksellers do not have a date of publication either.
At the back of the book is an insert advertising the publisher’s newest offerings. The date is 1882. So it is reasonable to assume this book was published in 1882.
If so, it’s in really nice condition!
The spine is intact and tight except for a slight crack at the front which I’ve photographed. There is no writing in the book. There is some light foxing of the pages. I’m not sure this book has ever been read.
